PRODUCT INFORMATION How do I upload my artwork? Once you complete your order, you will have the option to upload your artwork before proceeding to the checkout page. If you don’t purchase tags through the online store but would still like to send us your artwork electronically, please fill out the GENERAL FILE UPLOAD FORM. Before you submit any digital artwork, please read the ELECTRONIC ARTWORK GUIDELINES PAGE. Which file format will produce the highest-quality image for my tags? We suggest sending an EPS file in order to produce the best image. How do I decide what material to use? You should base your decision on how and where the tag will be used. Paper is the most common type of tag stock, but St. Louis Tag also offers Tyvek® and vinyl for tags that will be exposed to harsh environments. These synthetic materials are water-, chemical-, puncture-, tear-, and abrasion-resistant. What is a PMS color? PMS stands for Pantone Matching System. The system makes it possible to create customized ink colors by using a mixture of colors from the Pantone Formula Guide. You can find the color swatch book through a print shop or graphic artist. Can you match a special color? Yes. St. Louis Tag offers an unlimited amount of PMS colors for an additional charge. Call or e-mail us to specify the color or colors you need. Will the ink fade? Inks should not fade under moist conditions. However, the colors will fade when exposed to sunlight for an extended period of time. What kinds of printing processes do you use? St. Louis Tag uses specialized offset lithography techniques, including Four Color Process Printing, designed specifically for tag converting. Four Color Process Printing uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks to create a full color image. I don’t see an option to order multi-part tags. Do you offer them? Yes. We offer carbon-interleaved or carbonless tags of up to four parts. Please fill out a QUOTE REQUEST FORM or call our office for more information. What is the difference between carbon and carbonless tags? The most obvious difference is that carbonless tags do not contain a sheet of carbon – the thin piece of paper coated in a waxy pigment – placed between the other parts of the tag. Carbonless paper is chemically coated, eliminating the need for the carbon interleave. Though carbonless paper is cleaner, many people still prefer the crisper, more durable images carbon-interleaved tags produce. In addition, carbon-interleaved tags come in many color selections while carbonless tag colors are limited What is flood coating? Flood coating describes the process of turning white-colored material into a different color. Flood coating is commonly used for tags made out of Tyvek®, because the material is available only in white. What if I don’t see what I’m looking for? St. Louis Tag offers additional customization options beyond what you'll find on this site. If you don’t see the options you need online, please fill out our QUOTE REQUEST FORM. You can also call us (800) 426-8090 or e-mail us at service@stlouistag.com for information. ORDERING Is there a minimum order? Yes. St. Louis Tag requires a minimum order of 250 tags. How long will it take for me to get my tags once I’ve placed the order? St. Louis Tag specializes in producing short run products in a quick and timely manner. Since all of our tag products are made-to-order, typical production time ranges from 10-15 work days after final proof approval. If you need a faster turnaround, call us to see if we can accommodate your request. Can I change my proof after I’ve given final proof approval? No. Once you approve the proof, you cannot make any changes without paying additional charges. Can I return my order? No. All sales are final. Because each order is customized to fit your needs, we cannot give any refunds once production has begun. What happens if I’m not satisfied with my order? St. Louis Tag stands behind its work. If you aren’t satisfied with the final product, we will reproduce your order at no extra cost to make sure it meets your expectations. PAYMENT Can I purchase tags online? Yes. Our new online store makes it easy and convenient to order tags right on the spot. Start by choosing a material or category, then follow the step-by-step process to create your tag. What type of payment do you accept? St. Louis Tag accepts payment by check, major credit cards, debit cards, COD (cash-on-delivery), or CIA (cash-in-advance). You can also submit a CREDIT APPLICATION to apply for NET 30 terms. We do not charge your credit or debit card until after your order has shipped. How do I know my personal information will be safe if I order tags online? St. Louis Tag has several security measures in place to protect your information. We use the topmost technology, including 128 bit SSL encryption technology, to process your credit card information. This ensures a secure, convenient way to make purchases on our site. SHIPPING AND DELIVERING How do you ship orders? St. Louis Tag uses UPS as the main freight carrier. We incorporate the delivery rate into your final price upon checkout. We can also ship the job “collect” if you give us your preferred shipper’s billing number (the freight charges will be billed directly to your account). How do I track my order? Once you submit your order, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with your UPS tracking number. Do you ship internationally? Yes. We ship tags to countries all over the world. Can I come in to pick up my order if I live in St. Louis? Yes. If you’d like to come to our office, we can call you when your order is ready. COMPANY What types of industries do you service? We make tags for a variety of industries, including retail, food and drink, restaurant, travel and leisure, construction, medical, educational, automotive and agricultural. Can you send me samples of your work? Yes. We have custom sample kits available that show a wide variety of the products we manufacture. If you have a particular request, please call us at (800) 426-8090 or e-mail us at service@stlouistag.com, and we will send you a packet of samples tailored to your request. Does your company offer environmentally friendly products? Yes. St. Louis Tag offers a variety of eco-friendly materials. We can use recycled paper and soy ink during the printing process, plus jute or organic cotton string and vegetable adhesive during the finishing process. What are your office hours?
